At least two people were injured when a weapon was accidentally discharged at an upstate New York mall Sunday afternoon.
The incident was reported at the American Eagle store in the Galleria at Crystal Run mall in Middletown at about 3:15 p.m.
New York State police said two people were injured but it was not immediately clear if they were shot.
The Woodbury Police Department said in a statement that the incident stemmed from an accidental discharging of a firearm.
“A round hit the floor then ricocheted off of glass injuring people,” the statement read. The department went on to say that no fatalities have been reported.
Authorities say the incident isn’t believed to be an active shooter situation, according to News 12 Hudson Valley.
Witness Leighton Peterson told the Associated Press he heard alarms and mall employees telling people to reach the exits as he was getting something to eat in the food court.
No arrests have been made. The mall was placed on lockdown and police are still investigating the scene.
The incident comes after shoppers flooded malls across the U.S. for Black Friday deals.
